Am I right to think that after the "unload and show clear" command, one must also dry-fire the weapon?
I know my Glock can take that ... but for many guns it's not recommended. Are there other things considered acceptable? I'm thinking of getting a chamber flag. If I drop the slide on that, the weapon is definitely and obviously not chambering a live round -- no possible risk of a discharge.
But what is generally accepted? Or am I the only old-school "don't dry-fire a gun" guy around?
