It will consist of 16 stages again. Frank will be using the squad system again, and applications will be accepted starting March 2, 2009. I've always wanted to try that stage ever since the first time someone described it to me. For the people who have never heard the description of the stage here goes: You started the stage standing in a partially dug grave with shovel in your hand. Your weapon was at the back of the stage unloaded and in a bag. There is a loaded revolver at the base of a steel popper. With three targets near the grave and three more down range. On the start signal you strike the popper with the shovel drop it and pick up the revolver and put two bullets into each of the close in targets. Set the revolver down and move to the back of the stage and get your weapon load it and put two bullets in each of the three remaining targets. Now that seems like a hell of a lot of fun... Dave

Posts: 2174 (02/19/09 11:55:14) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I think there were six targets after the revolver as I recall there being an issue regarding a reload where shooters eared a significant penalty if they used a magazine that was not obtained from the bag or started with too many rounds in the first magazine. I also recall being glad that I had a flat shooting gun as the last two targets were rather distant and partially obstructed by some of Bubba's favorite hard cover. I was planning on retiring my timer for good after the S&W match, but after all Frank has done for me, along with my gushing admiration for His Royal Rhodenness, there is no other honorable alternative. I made arrangements with Frank yesterday and my flights are booked. I also have several Mason jars which need to be refilled. Craig

It seems the economy, the availability of bullets, and general bad nerves have people staying home. That would be too bad. The stages I have heard of are a collection of the best over the last nine years with some new evil in the mix. Frank reportedly has a collection of pristine "Range Cars" to serve as worthy props for the tenth annual. There are rumors of some new target systems. There is also talk of going back to the old shooter limit and only running two days. This may be the last chance a lot of people have to shoot a Carolina Cup. The two day format sold out very fast. So far we have the following shooters confirmed. (I assume Capel and Craig and Bob are going but they have not posted their squads,) Who else is going?
