How many of you carry a BUG everytime you carry your primary firearm? If not all the time, what is the approximate percentage of time that you carry a BUG when you also carry your primary firearm? What is the primary reason you sometimes carry the BUG and sometimes don't? Whether sometimes or all the time, what type of BUG do you carry and why that type? - John

If I was able to remember things real well, I would probably do better at matches. Six shots (only) while retreating, is not bang-1-2-3-4-5-6. It is bang-1-2-3-4-5. See what I mean. I can't always remember what someone says to me just before I shoot the stage. Oh well, I digress... - John

Posts: 43 (04/17/04 17:07:40) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	My bugs; Glock 26 with lasermax Springfield XD9 subcompact S&W 640 9mm last 2 are favorites, with SW640 taking the lead.I like the idea of not having to remove it from my pocket if SHTF scenerio. The XD is larger than the Glk and it handles better and shoots better than the Glk. I have no problem with using it as a primary weapon. Spending time in IDPA I have learned to carry the biggest I can. I would prefer to "dress to carry" rather than find a gun to match the way I dress. Good Shooting! Jim

I carry 125 gr. or 110 gr. JHP Winchester Personal Defense. I am comfortable with this combo. I practice with my carry ammunition and within 12 to 15 yards I can keep my hits in the kill zone. I carry it often! I especially like it in me Coronado leather vest! Fits great in that little hidden pocket!. Ain't that the way it always works? I loaned a guy a recoil spring at the 2003 Nationals because his gun wouldn't go into battery. And he winds up kicking my butt. I didn't mind though. He was a heck of a nice guy and he really did shoot better than I did. I like the LS in that vest too. I also like it in an Action Direct chest band shoulder rig when I am carrying someplace where I just CAN'T print, EVER. Hope you are going to shoot PA State with everyone this weekend. BUGs are prohibited at the full time job but off duty and the part time gig I have one on. Usually carried in a pocket holster weak side when used in the backup mode. Sometimes I use them both as a Primary and backup in opposite pockets. When I carry a belt gun off duty (about 50% of the time) I have a BUG in the pocket. Those times when I have no need to be armed the BUG is by itself in the strong side pocket. I prefer the S&W due to its ease of draw and ability to be fired from a pocket. The GLOCK is chosen to back up a bigger GLOCK or for the extra ammo piece of mind. I am somewhat ecletic in the decision process. As long as something that shoots is with me I am a happy camper. As for ammo I have purchased duplicates or comparable brands like my issue duty ammo. The 9mm issue load is a Remington 124 gr 9mm Golden Saber. I carry the same in the GLOCK but in +P. The Bodyguard BUG and K frame belt guns have 125 gr .38Special +P Golden Saber. In my opinion it is a good move to use the local police ammo in all your carry guns to head off any issues involving intent in the event of court action. Works for me and the officers I train. -Tom

I know, I'm slow on finally getting one; but when I finally do get something, I know it is what I want and not just a whim. Anyway, the Kel-Tec P3AT fills my BUG niche perfectly. With my build and usual form of dress and carry, carrying a snubnose in my front pockets didn't work to often. The Kel-Tec slips nicely in my back pocket, so now I always have it with me - John

Usually carried in my Front strong side pants pocket with my wallet in my weak side front pocket. (I wear loose clothing all the time). I carry it about 30% because my primary job prohibits guns. Jim
