Couldn't agree with you guys more. I think it was a good idea, but very poor execution. We have a classifier this weekend, and I was looking to go ahead and classify in CCP. As I was trying to decide what to shoot, I realized that a standard Service Model XD will meet the criteria. That's a FULL-SIZED gun, not a "compact carry" gun, but it appears that it will be legal in CCP (unless I'm missing something). Really makes no sense to me...

Except for the BUG, Duh! (from New Rule Book - emphasis mine): 8.2.6.7 Revolver BUG (BUG-R) 8.2.6.7.1 Handguns permitted for use in BUG-R must be: 8.2.6.7.1.1 Any revolver that uses .38 or larger cartridges with a rimmed case and is not loaded with moon clips. 8.2.6.7.1.2 The use of trimmed (shortened) ammunition is not allowed.8.2.6.7.1.4 Barrel length of 3.0” (76.2 mm) or less (as measured from the front of the cylinder).
I dug out an older rule book (April 2005) and revolvers were measured from the front of the cylinder then. I believe that this was changed in the prior 2014 update when some Canadian folks discovered that new guns like the Ruger Match Target were in violation of their laws if measured this way. Suspect this is just an overlooked item.
