2015 IDPA World Championship
The International Defensive Pistol Association is excited to announce that the 2015 IDPA World Championship is now scheduled for March 25-28, 2015, at the RL Shooting Club in Caguas, Puerto Rico. This match will host over 300 competitors from all around the world. Participants will be competing either Wednesday and Thursday or Friday and Saturday, thus allowing for more time to enjoy all that the island has to offer. Watch www.idpa.com for more information. Competitor entry forms will be available November 3, 2014 on the website and in the November issue of the Tactical Journal.
Puerto Rico, officially known as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico), is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic. Spanish and English are the official languages and most Puerto Ricans speak English. The U.S. dollar is the official currency and United States citizens don’t need a passport or a currency converter!
Besides competing in the World Championship, we hope you to take time to explore this tropical island paradise. You can find local exotic hideaways, miles of white sandy beaches, mountains and valleys, and many other natural wonders. In addition to the natural splendors, you will find yourself surrounded by warm and friendly people.
There is much to do in Puerto Rico to help make this event more than just a match, there are a multitude of other activities to help make this a vacation as well. From shores of world class beaches with surfing, reef diving, snorkeling etc. to the interior you find ATV riding though the rain forest, ziplining (one of the longest in the world), rappelling, caving and even a Trapeze School.
If you are a fan of rum, it may interest you to know that more than 70% of the rum sold in the U.S. comes from Puerto Rico. Take the opportunity to sample the favorite local brands, especially the top selling rum Don Q.
