A couple of posts have asserted that the Muzzle Safe Points are to be marked. If there is a reason, less than 90 or more than 90, then it is a very good idea to do this. But there is nothing that requires that the MSP be marked. Also, those marks are most likely only good for one shooting position. Here is the rule.

B. Pointing muzzle beyond designated “Muzzle Safe Points”.
A 180° rule does NOT exist and will NOT be grounds for DQ.

Doesn't say anything about marking anything. It says designate, which can be verbal or visual. It can be 180 degrees if you call it something else.

There is a reason that the other sport uses the 180 rule. It is the same reason that you can't just mark the MSP. The muzzle safe point moves with the shooter in most case.

I guess the rule does need to be reworded. I believe the rule was written with the idea that common sense would be applied, especially dealing with safety. As with so much of the RB, the sport has outgrown that approach b/c of numbers.

This is yet another example of why the new RB couldn't be written in a couple of months.
