Cindy, My post was not an attack on you or Steve but meant as an example of a need for better rules in the sport. Sorry I had to use you as an example as I know you are a good SO. My point being that with the current cover rules there is waaaaay too much room for error on the part of the SO. Errors that are affecting the outcome of matches. Now this was the nationals where most SO's were experienced and the squad had the benefit of multiple SO's per stage. Now let's look at a club match or small major match where there is one SO running the shooter. How can they keep attention to the muzzle and feet at the same time? I attended a large regional championship lately that was hurting for SO's and had to use a very inexperienced SO who proceeded to literally bend over at the waist to watch peoples feet. Half my squad got cover procedurals and so did many others. Out of 150 competitors there were 347 procedurals for the match. See anything wrong?

There is no need for a laser or any other high tech device. The other sport has simply been using a stick on the ground for years and seems to work just fine.
