Everyone was told the points were what got you in. You can't blame someone for complaining when they go by the guidelines they are given.

HQ has recognized the mistake and they will just have to accept the flack. When a business screws up, sometimes all they can do is apologize and take the beating.  That appears to be what HQ is doing. (since the match is full and probably will be next year, they probably aren't sweating it all that much)

To think those affected shouldn't complain is illogical. There is really no good excuse for it happening, so defending it is also illogical. 

And I didn't even apply, so take my view as that of an "outside observer".
