Paul,
Shucks, you got me.

Actually it was/is a secret conspiracy and I was just trying to hide that, but you were too clever. HQ keeps track of anyone that has posted trash about them all year on any of the forums, was rude or that sent argumentative emails to HQ. HQ has unlimited time to read all the dozens of places on the internet that talk about IDPA and have almost 20 people assigned full time to this task alone. Each post from every forum is transferred to a huge server farm underground of Wilson Combat. Hundreds of high performance computer servers running Linux/Apache with dozens of RAID disks each. There are so many computers down there, that they had to move the Roswell bodies to another facility. Then those posts are automatically mined for negativity among other things. And if someone posted anything slightly negative in the last 365 days, out they go. It never was points, that was just a clever cover story, and most people bought it, two years in a row. Even the apology was faked.

If by chance an undesirable gets in, then all the SOs are instructed to "get" that person, so no negative person can do well. Unfortunately soon you will read my obituary, cause I let it leak out and they do not tolerate disclosure. Shhh, it is a secret....

An alternate answer is that nothing I type will satisfy you, you need to get your pound of flesh, either from them or now from me because I defended them for being hard working, caring people doing their best.

A third answer is that HQ followed their process. They knew the process and they knew the cutoff date, and they followed it. No fault there.

The issue is that they did not know that they forgot to publish the cutoff date until it was too late. As soon as they found out, then came the announcement from Robert Ray. It was an unfortunate mistake for those that did not send in applications as soon as they could, and unfortunate for HQ too. HQ cares deeply about their shooters and the sport. A point that seems to get lost.

I'm sorry you didn't get in. I would think that shooting several sanctioned matches this past year was a reward unto itself.
