Doyle and Robert,
Forum etiquette is decided by the list owner Ted Murphy... not y'all. The list owner at great person expense of money and time, and a few loyal contributors have kept this forum running since 2003 and many of the regulars have been here a long time too. Y'all are quests here, newby guests that are leaving a lasting impression. Life will probably be easier for you if you limit the lecturing of the regulars and especially the lecturing of the contributors. Yeah, I know you have no idea what I am talking about, which is part of my point.

Threads like these always have way more speculation and indignation than anything else. You want speculation? Maybe the people with lesser points actually filled in the application correctly and had verifiable points. You would not believe the stories I have heard about membership and Nationals entry forms. Or maybe there is some other logical reason, not related to a super secret IDPA Nationals conspiracy. Last year there were several tens of thousands of hostile words written about the process, and guess what, it all worked very well. I also note that no one apologized for their slanderous posts however.

If you want to get your indignation to the right people, you can always call HQ.

Ken,

First of all, I believe everyone should follow proper forum etiquette, on any forum.  That is my opinion.  If Ted Murphy, as forum owner, feels it neccessary to enforce it where needed, that is fine.  As far as I understand, everyone is a guest here.  And I appreciate that there is an IDPA forum.  I am not aware of any bad history or slanderous posts.  But that is irrelevant.

I am not sure where you are getting any "lecturing" or "indignation" from my posts.  I asked some questions and shared my expectations.  I'm interested in facts, not innuendo.  If a poster says an acquaintance got in with 3 points, I take him at his word as much as I do your words - no more, no less.  My questions have not been answered here.  So I will call HQ this week.

I am sure the IDPA Nationals will be a fine event this year.  These things take a lot of hard work by the organizers and all of the volunteers - all much appreciated.  Though I had expected to participate, it looks like now I will be shooting a sporting clay tournament instead.  Maybe next year.
