Todd, I've learned my limitations relating to stoning the hard way.  You should have seen the mess when I became convinced I could do an action job with tooth paste.  I've also messed up leaf mainsprings, too.  Tried to bend them and they broke..ground them narrower from the sides and got light hits.  I'll play around with replacing sights and spring kits, but for anything more critical I  respect the services of a pro gunsmith.  I do think I'll try a match with just the Wolf reduced spring without the shim.  It will probably be 100% with the Federal primers.  I just remember not so long ago when it was difficult to find any brand of primers and Federals were impossible.  Winchesters were all I could find.  I'm keeping my stock spring in case we go through that (or worse) drill again.

Chris, I do have a couple 1911s and am going to shoot one next match, CDP, to check out a new fiber optic front sight.  I'm got a CZ and GP100 too, but the only S&W M&P I recognize are all steel and 6 shooters, unlike the plastic fantastic things they are calling M&Ps now, those 6 shooter M&Ps are wheel guns
