FWIW, I have stopped shooting my reloads in 9mm at sanctioned matches and went with the 147 grain FMJ FN 147 grain Federal American Eagle. Makes PF easy (no chrono worries) is more accurate than my reloads, and while the recoil is a touch snappier than my 147 grain "wienie" loads at 129 PF, that extra recoil seems to snap me back on target faster, and my double tap groups are smaller. I still shoot my reloads for practice to save a few bucks, but the American Eagle goes to matches. If you don't reload, that's a good 9mm load, IMHO. Can't help with .40 S&W. I don't shoot one.
