Screw that box down for safety. I still have our original 10-year old club box. As a normal practice we don't flip the lid open when it's used on a stage to limit wear & tear. We'll put a closely fitted piece of carpet inside to make it less likely to damage a gun or otherwise cause mayhem.

We always put a chunk of attached carpet down on the respective surface when the gun starts out of the holster. Greatly limits the possibility of gun muzzles swinging in 360 degree arc's during retrieval.
