That was also about the first question Bob asked... although his club uses an Excel spreadsheet.

Importing from Access is straightforward in a way - in that I know exactly how they've formatted the data. The problem is that my software development system doesn't read Access files directly - you need to configure a DSN in Windows ODBC... and if that doesn't mean much to most people, it's why that gives me pause.

Excel spreadsheets could be saved as CSV (comma separated value) files, which my software could read. Problem with that is that there's no consistency on how people have set up their spreadsheets.

I'm thinking that the most practical approach would be to offer as a service to anyone who buys my software a conversion of their existing shooter database. E-mail it (or snail mail it) to me, and I'll send back a copy that my software could use. As this software has an extremely limited potential market anyway (it's not like selling millions of copies of Turbo Tax, for example) that shouldn't be too onerous for me. What do you think?
