Even if the cylinder is open you can get a DQ in IDPA if your screw up and run the muzzle past the "Safe Firing" points (that does take a lot of body movement and is knida hard to do if you are reloading correctly). In USPSA/IPSC you can get one for breaking the 180 (even vertically if your gun is still in a down range posture... which is sort of normal if you are dumping rounds from a SSR/rimmed cartridge gun). I have been cautioned on that a few times when I took my IDPA SSR gear to a IPSC club. Muzzle is still Muzzle... even if the cylinder is open. The IDPA rules on that are a bit more forgiving than USPSA/IPSC.
