Ken,

I went to a big match that had 2 blind stages that were also low light. I was lucky to draw first shooter on the one. At the beep I proceeded to shoot every target in the room. When it came time to score I was informed that 3 of the targets had "badges", thus they were no shoots and I was to receive 3 "hits on a non-threat". Of course I brought out the rule book that states in plain English " All non-threat targets must have hands". I was told that the badges are non-threat indicators. Non-threat indicators....Hmmmmm, OK, but the rule book is quite clear. I received the penalties and to say the least, never shot at that club again. Local or State Matches, the rules should be followed. I don't think that one leaves any wiggle room. If I was told ahead of time not to shoot the ones with the badges, although not in the rules, I could have shot it correctly. Different rules at local clubs leads to newer shooters having trouble at other clubs or State level matches. We have all heard the phrase: At our club we do it this way!
