Hi all,
The thing about trouble shooting mechanical problems without having the fun at hand is very diffucult. It's kind of like asking the auto mechanic over the phone "what's wrong with my car" etc.

However conserning slide lock failures, these following situations could be the culprit.

1. Too weak ammo...not likely
2. holding the gun wrong.
3. poor quality magazine, or out of spec.
4. slide stop detent too powerfull.
5. slide stop out of spec or overfiled.
6. location of magazine wrong, or magcatch slightly mispositioned
7. too powerfull recoil spring
8. Or the wrong type slide stop installed in the first place.

The ultimate slide stop test would be, to load all your match/self defense mags with first 2 rounds...and then 1 only, and shoot the gun dry using only a very light grip on the pistol.

Good luck with it, it's usually a very easy fix for a skillfull pistolsmith if you need that service.

See you at the range,
Jess Christensen
