I got the bright IDEA to use captured solid guide rods in G17, G34s and G21. best information I could come up with all require 17# lb springs via Glock. So I stayed with 17# lb springs.

Back in cold weather grandsons and I shot a lot in an indoor range, Nicks G34 started acting weird, took it down polished the solid SS rod, seemed ok again. then two weeks ago at a USPSA event, started again, slide felt rough and a ratchet type feel, didn't want to feed proper. Removed the recoil sp and solid rod and replaced with a factory stock Glock recoil spring, alls fine again.

For folks who buy a pistol and one box of ammo a year they are a trick for tinker butts, if you run 300 to 400 rounds a week thru one BEWARE !!!!!!

I removed all the solid rods from our Glocks and went back to factory springs.

The end of the story, sometimes we out smart ourselfs.

For what it's worth.
