We use them fairly frequently activated by steel or bear-traps and sometimes use the target or the no-shoot coming up to activate additional moving targets like additional clamshell or drop turner. They are fun and interesting props that add a spice, especially for the "newer" IDPA shooter. Gives more advanced shooters "options" sometimes when additional threats can be engaged while "waiting" for the clamshell threat to "appear".

These are great for Level 1 matches as local club matches. At major matches have seen these to be problematic, esp if it is an outdoors match. Depending on weather, wind and other factors they can change the presentation and be different for shooters at different times of the day or on different days. Less problems at major matches with climate controlled situation where variables and decreased and if they can be properly "anchored".
