Part of the problem is an industry where some manufacturers are casual with the use of terms. Most people's full sized guns are 5" or longer. However some manufacturers have used full size to describe their 4" guns to cover up their lack of a real full sized gun. The term Compact is used to describe guns from 4" barrels down to 2.5" guns. The Sub-compact term is used to describe 3" guns down to 2.5" guns. The term Micro-carry covers even smaller guns.

But in general:
Long slide = 6" and longer, some up to 8". (Do a google search for long slide handguns to see what I mean.)
Full size = around 5", some up to 5.25 and 5.3 for Pro and Competiton sizes. My personal carry gun the G41 fits here.
Compact = around 4".
Sub-compact = around 3" to 3.5".
Micro-carry = 3" and smaller

Given that, CCP is correctly named, and includes the right guns. But some use one gun or the other that is improperly named to say CCP includes guns too big.

It is humorous that we have had both requests to reduce the allowed size of CCP guns and increase the size of allowed CCP guns.

I think and hope it will be a very popular division.

BUG looks like it will also be a very popular division as well.

I hope both are gateway drugs into the addiction we all call IDPA.
