With due respect, I think it was understood quite well. And I suspect others would if they had studied this for weeks and cut enough spacers to make a camp fire. The suggestion above would force 6 rounds in a magazine 1911's to compete against 8 rounds in the magazine other guns. It would disadvantage all single stacks with large diameter rounds. Maybe some would like that, but the 1911 45 guys would be screaming. And everyone would be screaming if this were a 6+1 division. Some don't even like 8+1... if they have a double stack compact.

So far what we have is the G19 guys saying they will win, the CZ guys saying they will win, and the 1911 guys saying they will win, etc. This seems to be a division up for grabs to the best shooter. That would not be the case if we screwed up the specifications.

I guess my concern, if you can call it that, is for someone to look at this for 5 minutes and think they have the only answer, without even putting together a chart of most of the guns used in IDPA, studying how guns can be rotated in the box, what magazine bumpers would be in or out. What height of sights would be in our out, and a dozen other factors.

If intuition worked all that well we would have 50 million lottery winners every week.
