Just got an email from the Pro Shop about it. There's a link to the new logo at the top of www.idpa.com as of right now.

IDPA is very happy to announce the release of our new Low Profile logo.
For some time, I have had members tell me that they wished they could publicly display their IDPA pride but can't. Some members feel uncomfortable wearing clothing that displays a gun out in public, saying that they don't like advertising they may be carrying a gun and others (like my wife, a school teacher) can't wear images of guns in their place of business or elsewhere. The new logo was designed to allow members to display their pride in membership without the thoughts of undue public scrutiny or running afoul of laws or work place restrictions.
This new LowPro logo will be a great accompaniment to our existing logo. The old logo is still the official emblem of IDPA and will continue to grace our publications, official documents, materials and Pro Shop items. The new logo will allow our members to mix and match the two logos in the ways that work best for their particular needs. We think that you will like the new logo and the new products that we will be releasing over the coming year. To launch this new logo we are very happy to introduce EOTAC clothing. The people at EOTAC have a long history of supporting IDPA and the shooting sports. We are please to be able to offer their Lightweight vest from their Discreet Apparel line. This is a great vest and one of the great pieces of gear that was gifted to our SO's at last years National Championship. The vest is being offered in Khaki and OD green. I have one of the vests and have found it to be great for IDPA or just out and about. I have never received a second look from anyone while wearing this vest.
The other item we are introducing is the TacPen. Most of us in the sport have a CCW if the state permits us to have one. This entails an acceptance of an increased degree of responsibility as to knowing where we can and can not go with a handgun. There are some places that will not allow us our almost "standard" folding clip knives. For those places you can't avoid going, but you can't bring a gun or knife, we offer the TacPen. This pen is designed for those defensive situations where you can't bring something better to bear. The pen is hard anodized aluminum, screwtop pen that does double duty as a strike device. It is perfectly at home on the range, traveling or in the office.
These great new products can be found in our ProShop online at www.idpa.com or you can order by calling 870-545-3886. Also, remember that Fathers Day is right around the corner on June 21st.

IDPA HQ "This soldier, I realized, must have had friends at home and in his regiment; yet he lay there deserted by all except his dog. I looked on, unmoved, at battles which decided the future of nations. Tearless, I had given orders which brought death to thousands. Yet here I was stirred, profoundly stirred, stirred to tears. And by what? By the grief of one dog." ~Napoleon Bonaparte, on finding a dog beside the body of his dead master, licking his face and howling, on a moonlit field after a battle. Napoleon was haunted by this scene until his own death. |

I like it, and I agree. I never wear my IDPA hat out in town because it has this big blazing gun right across the top of it.
The vest, its the EOTAC lightweight one? The picture on the website leaves much to be desired. Its hard to know just what you're getting. Knowing it is the EOTAC one does allow me to see more detailed pictures from their website. |

I like it, since it doesn't replace the old logo. If it did, I would be disappointed.

It is a nice logo, and I'm glad they're not completely replacing the original with it. It just frosts me a little, changing something to be politically
correct.

It saddens me to see comments by IDPA members that the new logo is welcomed because the old one was cause for discomfort or unease when displayed publicly
today. What does that say about the state of our country when people are afraid to express free association as protected in our Constitution. Is it the
oppresssion of the State or just lack of fortitude on the part of IDPA members? Either way this is indicative of the end of our rights as we know them. Please
don't give me a bunch of BS about community sensitivities or the need to bow in the face of political correctness. If these were the concerns of our
founding fathers we'd still be flying the Union Jack. My vote is for the old logo, which I wear every chance I get, and the need for our members to
remember the values we represent.

pvgeltz wrote:+1 I can't really see how the new logo is much better it still has a stylized gun at the end... So for those people that work in a zero tolerance (read zero common sense) environment can still get nailed for wearing clothing promoting gun use or that has the representation of a gun on it. When will HQ send us the directions for the IDPA secret handshake? Drew Bingaman

I don't mind a realistic pistol in the logo for the International Defensive Pistol Association and consider the new swoosh a weak move.
But then I do not put shooting logos on anything but shooting gear. I don't want to advertise my guns to thieves with car decals, for example. |

Well, given as I've NEVER been accused of being politically correct.... | ||

And anyone that knows me can say to the above title "yep, that's her...". I like the logo. What the heck is the majority grousing about? Look
on the NRA's website, and you'll see many variations of the NRA logo or script of it on shirts, hats, etc.
HQ isn't replacing the original logo. Put away the pitchforks and maces, everyone. In an era when simply having a pair of kindergarten scissors in your briefcase on an airplane can get you arrested for having a 'deadly weapon', it's a nice option to have. If I didn't have enough gear already, I'd probably get one of the vests. And yes, sheeple drive me nuts as well, but there are times when it simply isn't advantageous to agitate them.... Robert, et al., nice job on the logo. Ignore the tormented masses....

I like the new look to the Logo. My reasoning has nothing to do with political correctness though. The main logo is just to much noise when you look at it.
I prefer small logos, especially if I put them on something. If HQ qill make some vehicle decals to sell in the Pro shop, then I'll probably buy one for
each vehicle.
I'm sure some people won't like it, but hey thats why they are keeping the old. Cody "coyote" |

Of course. These are MY choices. Cindy, my Sister, I'm glad that you like it too. Steve: Thanks for the alternating logos.

Very nice logo. If NHL teams can come uyp with three or four variations of their jersys to generate new sales why not IDPA? In any event I think it looks
good and fills a niche. We are a world wide sport and if it helps the guys in places where the old logo was seen to be offensive to the public then this logo
solves the problem.
