Does anyone know where to find Federal primers in-stock? This situation is getting ridiculous!

Really bad right now. Midway does not have a single large pistol primer and are not allowing any backorders, suggesting that either they have no idea when
they'll be restocked, or they do know when-- and it is bad news. ...Walt

Federal primers, nope. However here's a link for a place in Oklahoma. http://store.thirdgenerat...m/browse.cfm/2,3715.html I was able to get 10,000
Federal small pistol magnum primers from them a couple of weeks ago. When I just checked now they have CCI large pistol magnum primers. Magnums will work just
fine, you'll just have to adjust your load a little. Now I see they have a 5000 limit per customer. I know some people don't like CCI. Hey, when times
are such as they are, you've got to take what you can get and make it work.

If you want them for light hammer Smith's, try Wolf. I've shot a bunch of them and they work fine in everything. They'll probably be backordered
from Powder Valley, but you'll eventually get them. I have 15K coming from their next batch..
Bob Socialism is a great idea until the achievers run out of money.

Here's a guy who wants to trade some primers. Don't know if it will help you or not. Looks like he is in GA. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83200&hl=

I've had a slight problem of light hammer strikes-maybe 3 out of 200 rounds-with the M&P Pro, using CCI primers. Maybe 1 out of 300 with all other
primers. I keep reading that Federal primers will solve this problem, but I haven't been able to find any, and I've never used them. Any truth to this?

That may not be the problem but when I was talking to Dan Burwell at the S&W match he said it is fairly common if oil was in the striker channel. Dan knows more about the M&P's than anyone else I know. I hope you are able to track down the problem. |
