He needs to be kept busy for the next 7 weeks. Here are mine (which I've already discussed with Curt): I have no issues with the 45 ACP/CDP, SSR PF stuff (but I'll shoot a lower PF if I can) nor the cover rules - I think the ones we have just kinda need to be universally applied for all divisions- sorta like state and local gun laws, huh? We don't need more, we need the ones we have enforced. It's that whole "If I have to stand here and shoot in the open because cover is not available, then I why can't I put more bullets in my gun right here, because you just told me cover is not available, right?" discussion that's getting old. I wish I could use my 4" 627 or somewhere - it's an N-frame just like the WWI-hastily-planned-1911-suppply problem-625. No one would argue a 38 Special or 357 Magnum fired from a 4" revolver is not a commonly used self-defense round...and why is a 686+ any less viable than a 686? I think that there is no reason that the XD should not be in the same class as the other polymer guns, the trigger is not that different that it gives some kind of major advantage. I'd also like to see the RWR and tac-reloads done away with. I think that allowing dropping a mag during a reload is more realistic in a defensive situation than trying to fumble with a RWR if you're trying to defend your life.

It wasn't intended to compete with this one, Chuck, in that it's targeted strictly toward proposed rule book changes... not unlike the 3-gun section of this forum. As you can see from the dates, I built it a year and a half ago in response to a conversation I'd had with somebody, but then put it on the shelf until this thread started. Seems to me that having a place that's organized in a way that people could propose rule wordings and try to hammer out some suggested changes might be more efficient than having dozens of people bugging HQ individually by phone or email. IDPA headquarters people could look through them at their convenience should they choose to do so. I did send Robert Ray an FYI link to it today..... Jane - Expert on nothing with opinions on everything...

I submitted my suggestions, but have only seen a few other's suggestions. A lot of the topics discussed here were on the list in one form or another. That was the topic of an interesting conversation I had with a couple of friends after an IDPA match. A buddy commented that if he ever gets into a shootout with somebody who also shoots IDPA, he's going to wait until the other guy stops firing and ducks under cover. Since my buddy knows that the other guy's probably doing a TR/RWR (how long will that take- around 3 secs?) and since most gunfights happen at around 10 yards or less, he'll simply rush the other guy and catch him literally with his pants down.
