This is not listed in the IDPA sections as this match will not follow all of the IDPA BUG rules. There are plans for several stages (more than 10, less than 20) and Lewis class prize money. There are still openings for the match. John mentioned that he and Steve have come up with 20 strings of fire. A shirt and lunch are included in the match fee, and there will be Lewis class cash payouts. If the shirts are anything the SO shirts that John got for the NJ state SO's, then they will be nice. Ken

Here is an excerpt from the MD's last message: The match is all set for this Sunday. ~~If you are receiving this that means you are registered~~. We have a few changes. First, if you paid a match fee or are working as a Safety Officer a t-shirt will be included free. This is a great shirt because it's the first appearance of our club dog. Mitch Gurowitz (and his wife) designed our match shirt. We will have some extras for $10. Second, there will be 20-21 strings of fire, 7-8 stages. I think the count is around 115 rounds minimum. I just want you to know there will be a Texas star, it will be fixed so it doesn't move but it can still suck up some ammo and mags. We have a nice mix of paper, knock down steel and static steel. The match is not full. It seems people either don't own a small gun, a holster for it or extra mags. Anyway, it'll be a quick and fun match. We plan on shooting the match and then while we break down we'll have pizza for lunch. If we have enough people to help break down and Steve lets me(he really hates it when I don't help clean up), I'll try to do the scores at the range. We would like to start shooting around 9:30. Please plan enough time before hand to get set up and registered. If all goes well we should be done shooting around 1-1:30. In the event there is real bad weather the match will be canceled. I will post the match status on the home page of our web site. Please check it before heading out. www.obdogs.com if there are any problems with the match it will be posted by 7:00am match day. We had a great squad and although I may have heard some complaining about performance, I did not hear any complaining about the match. Everyone helped. I hope that we will be able to do it again! My eyes were opened to the capabilities of a 5 shot J frame. If my 36 could hold 6 rounds, I would use it in SSR. Thanks guys, Ken

I had a great time and for those of you that did not attend, you missed a match that included shooting various postions lying down, weak/strong hand shots, and steel that makes you hit the pedal ( and miss sometimes) and running if you liked to run with a pocket gun... My first string for the day was a 25 yard target with a Glock 26. I have to admit, you really dont see the holes from that distance but I had them all on the target. I really liked the 15 round per string and 3 mag limit. I thought that made the strings more challenging and reloads after 5 rounds was a cool change too. The stages were well run with plenty of mauling going on. Kitty was a riot and she can keep you laughing throughout the match. Ken, Steve says I sound alot like Joanna during a string when I miss the target and I know I missed. Especially on those steel targets. Anyway, I hope this was the first of many annual pocket guns matches at Old Bridge by OBDOGS. The matches there are by far my favorite. Rich Last Edited By: loomis1266 11/10/08 18:14:13.
