Oh, yea - the other reason to go. Great stages of varying difficulty, and those sneaky ones that goad you into pushing the envelope either purposely or by brain fart (uh, Stage 1 for instance....
The days were long, chilly and smoky in Bay 6, but we had an absolute blast. The shooters that came through were great (with minor exceptions) helping with the pasting and just being great competitors. I worked this year in a different bay from my always present friend-in-arms (usually armed with a Glock, that is....
It was great seeing all the old friends and meeting new ones - so darn many that I'm needing a Rolodex to keep all the names straight. This is such a great sport, and I feel incredibly blessed to have the ability to participate in it.
The awards ceremony on Saturday night was great. Carl - son, you have one beautiful voice!!! That was incredibly neat - I've not been to an event where the National Anthem was sung by the attendees as the opening to the festivities - and everyone around was singing along. That was really, really neat - Ted (I'm assuming that was your handiwork), great idea!
Ted, Melissa, John S., Robert, Rhonda, Dru, Jane, the SO's and everyone else that worked the match in any capacity - great, great job. I'm booking my vacation time for next year as soon as I hear the dates - don't care where the match is shot at, I'll be there and hopefully invited back to work as well.
Now back to my regularly scheduled life and work at 0800 tomorrow morning....
