My 11 year old and I shot our first IDPA match today, and we are both eager to see our results. My son did AWESOME for a first timer, and especially for a first timer YOUTH shooter. He will be 12 in February, and that gives him 6 months to get his skills honed before he can join IDPA and then qualify. From what I saw today, he will be a VERY strong contender.

I'm a Looooooong time shooter, but just shot my first IDPA match about six weeks ago. What a kick in the pants! I thought that it was great, but it has been a busy summer and I am just now looking at going again. The local league's next event is billed as a Super Shoot. What is the differance between this and a regular event? Am I going to be out of my depth? Should I wait for the next regular event?
