I used a Model 640, with no modifications other than a green painted front sight and different grips. The ammo was +p hollowpoints and the speedloaders were Jetloaders that I carried in my pocket.

The results in relation to everyone in the match were:

Snub - Raw time 28.35 with 9 points down - Vickers time = 32.85

I usually shoot a 3" or 4" K-frame .357 with .38 +P ammo in SSR and one of my 3" K-frames in BUG division. I have actually carried like this in the past. First, I think this 5 round limit is getting to be a little on the old side. Some of the newer compact autos can carry 10 rounds easily. Some of the Glocks come to mind and my Para 1440 also. Compact and easily concealable.

However, when it comes to launching a large ashtray sized projectile like a .44 special which I am finding more and more interesting I think the revolver is the firearm of choice. I think the J-frame is just about perfect for BUG carry.
