Melissa's gun has gotten a bit of a hiccup and needs a new hammer/sear and whatnot. The full @%%# notch on the hammer looks more like a round bump anymore. It's going to the gun doc next week.

Been thinking about this gun.

It's a Springfield 1911 in 9mm she bought in early 2002 or late 2001. She has taken it to 9 nationals, countless state, regional and local matches. I figure a conservative estimate of its use is 45k rounds, with a high estimate of 90k...

Hi. I'm new here and relatively new to IDPA. I've been shooting most of my life, both recreationally and professionally. I currently shoot a stock Glock 22, and Glock 34 for IDPA, but my big hands give me very bad slide bite. I'm thinking about buying a CZ Shadow to shoot in ESP. The last I read (2005 IDPA rules), the max weight for ESP is 43 ounces. Right? And according to the CZ website, the Shadow is 2.6 pounds (or approx. 41 ounces). I also assume that the 2.6 pound...

Can the XDm 9 in ESP?

Can the XDm 9 be used in the ESP division? Can it be competitive?

My problem is that I recently sent to Springer for a trigger job. They called and suggested stippling on the grip, which I agreed to without checking the rule book. Of course stippling is illegal in SSP. My only option appears to be ESP.

ESP Help for 9mm G35

I purchased a G35. I have converted to 9mm with a Lone Wolf 40-9 barrel. I used it in a match last Friday with good results on WWB. I don't really like the sights, looking for advice there, and any other ideas on mods.
Any good load ideas for 9mm in the 35 would be nice too. (Lead vs ?)

Ok, so I made the choice of selling my berreta px4 in 40, then I purchased a nice and inexpensive ruger p95. I like the Ruger, and now with the sights adjusted and practice on the reloads, it is a very capable gun, a keeper. 1911 fit into ESP?

After reading the rule book I was looking for an option of there than CDP that would allow my .45acp 1911 (Taurus 5") to compete using the 10 round magazines. It appears that I will fit into ESP with the Taurus where I've been in CDP with my Kimber (3" so only 8 round max). Am I missing any key factors that would keep me from competing in ESP? Is ESP going to end up over my head because of the ability for others to customize more?

I usually see only one XDM at matches, but lots of XDs. I was expecting the M to take over. Is it taking over in your neck of the woods?

Hello everyone I just did my first classifier last Saturday using my XD 9mm tactical shot a score of 236.32. I wanted to make sure I was safe but BOY do I suck. I also own an M&P 9mm which I could use in SSP but it is standard size. Within the next month I am going to get some training. 1911 9MM Mag Recomendations

Hi all, Looking for recomendations for a 9 or 10 round mag for a 9 MM 1911 (Les Baer) pistol. I'm interested in the ones with the spacer in the front, setting the round to the rear of the mag. Anybody have any experience with these? (The owner is having problems with the bullet nose diving into the feed ramp from a slide lock reload.) We are hoping this mag will alleviate this problem.

I'm considering purchasing an STI Eagle for ESP and possibly USPSA. I am currently shooting a Glock 21SF. Is the 2011 frame larger than the 21SF, for those that have tried both. We don't have a dealer local and I don't know of anyone local using one. I prefer a short trigger in a 1911 so would do same with the 2011. The width of th 21SF and a 1911 cause me to shift my grip for magazine changes so I've learned to live with this handicap.

STI Eagle 9MM or .40Cal?

I am looking at purchasing an Eagle for IDPA ESP. I know the .40cal would give me the option of using the gun in ISPC as well .

For the shooters out there any thoughts on caliber? I reload so cost of ammo is pretty much even. The .40cal gives bigger holes and recoil is about the same given PF loadings.

I guess my question revolves around relaibility and accuracy of one caliber over the other out of the gun as well as speed of reset etc. Any thoughts on hard chrome vs...

OK, I'm the paranoid type. I'll admit it.

In ESP - per the Rulebook, extended safeties for Beavertail and ambi safeties, and extended mag release buttons (to a certain length) are permitted.

I'm not seeing anything mentioned about extended slide releases. With my small paws, the ability to release the slide is nil without one on the Hi-Power. Heck, hitting the...

1911 38 super or 9mm - which to buy ??

I am about to order a Wilson 1911 and am torn between 9mm and 38 super. I am leaning toward the 9mm since 38 would require reloading match and practice ammo since 38 super factory stuff is usually really hot. I could run cheap 9's for practice and club matches and save time sitting behind the press.

Now if I reload 9mm and 38 super right at 125 power factor will one kick less than the other or are they the same? Is there anything else I am not thinking about between the 38...
