Hey Everyone,

So I picked up my new SP-01 yesterday and went blasting with it. I am glad I did not opt for the shadow because this thing is already scary accurate out of the box and while the trigger has a tad of creep in it single action, its nothing that seems to slow me down any. I will want to swap in some wood grips and get some all black steel sights. But I just wanna make some comments to anyone else considering looking at one:

I got a teaser email from Glock today advertising the forthcoming Fourth Generation of Glocks.

Rumor has it as a RTF finish with removable backstraps, I don't know what else.

I have a brand new 92FS and a brand new 92 Inox to work with. I'm curious if the following modifications are legal for SSP.

1. Change out the factory plastic trigger for a steel factory trigger.
2. Change out the factory plastic guide rod for a steel factory guiderod.

Advantage Arm conversion and holster fit

Does anyone know if the target model of the Advantage Arms 22 conversion for Glock 34 has any holster issues. The front sight looks high to me. I would like the LE model, but target is the only one available. Thanks, Jeff

im asking myself if i really need to spend 600+ on a glock 34 to enhance my performance in the idpa. i a very happy with my 19 and do pretty well with it. i noticed that very few 19's are competing mostly 17s and 34s. im pretty sure the draw is faster with the smaller gun and close targets shouldnt be much different. is the recoil of a 34 and the accuracy enough to warrant buying a competition only gun? usually the farthest target is 25 to 30 yards and there are few of them. most...

Considering getting involved with IDAP at local Club, probably in some low key way and probably never becoming all that serious ,,,, don't anticipate becoming very competitive as a "newbie" just starting out at age 69.

Looking for your suggestions as to which Model 1911 from the current Smith &Wesson Production you would recommend?

Does a Sig P245 meet requirements for SSP division ?

I carried a Sig P245 from the time this pistol was first introduced until I retired from law enforcement last year. Although many people did not care for this compact version of a P220, this particular weapon just fits my hand and grip perfectly. I had planned to shoot the P245 in the SSP division, but am not certain if it meets the production requirements. Does anyone know the answer to this ? I have e-mailed Sig to ask for production figures, but have not yet heard back.

OK GUYS
Heres my thought's.I have a ruger sr-9 which is my carry weapon. I will be shooting IDPA wityh my .45 a springfield loaded. I have no intention of useing the ruger for IDPA .........but I am concidering tradeing my sr-9 for a GP-141 which is a .357 gp-100 with a 4-inch barrel .....I will carry the revolver plus shoot it in IDPA .........what are your thoughts on the ruger GP-141 Wheel gun...................be trueth -ful

Why don't I see certain guns at matches

Now first off let me say that if I had the money I would have every gun made in every caliber.

I shoot matches in LA, AL, TN, TX, GA, and hopefully this year Oklahoma, and I never seen certain guns. Can anyone tell me why?

Taurus 24/7, revolvers
Ruger SR9, GP100
Kahr 45 (I'd imagine you could find a mag with 1 extra round)

I know this is not a complete list but why aren't these guns in the mainstream. I looked at the Nationals list, not a...

First post, new shooter. I've been researching what gun to buy for beginner IDPA competition, and am getting more and more confused. As a new guy, the SSP class would seem to be best, though not exactly sure why I am saying that. Anyway, can you use a 1911 in SSP? ParaOrdinance has a 1911 chambered for 9 mm that seems really nice. However, it weighs 40 oz., one ounce more than the 39 oz. max., if I am understanding the rules correctly. Other considerations are the Smith & Wesson...

SIG Shooters in SSP

I have been shooting Glock in SSP, but recently decided to pull my SIG 228 out of the safe and get re-aquainted. I decided that I really like the way the SIG feels in my hand, and it really shoots better groups than the Glock. Who out there is shooting DA/SA SIG's in IDPA, and how are you doing with them? Can you be competetive with one? Help me out here guys!

I have a Glock 23 and I want to change the sights to a set of XS Big Dot's.... would this be ok in the SSP class?

Being typically a CDP shooter I have been thinking about getting into SSP for a while. Learned long ago not to use my G17 in competition.
Have noticed more and more M&P's, and have been impressed with the few rounds I have put through them.
I finally picked up a 9 Pro last weekend, and just sent off the rebate to get my two magazines.

Now I need a holster.

So, what do you think?
