Looking for some Florida ranges that you can "move around " a bit.
Went to my first event last weekend. (Hansen Range) Everyone was super cool.
Coming from the tactical world I see some major benefits to IDPA.
I do see a lot of "real world" no,no's.
An old timer told me at the match..." this isnt real world, we are here to have fun."
It all made a lot more sense after that.

would like some opinions...if you were going to put no trespassing signs on your property would you simply use the basic signs or something a little more drastic, like the no trespassing signs that have some clever gun saying on them???

my wife is set to take her concealed class in a week or so. we went out and shot everything from a .380 to my G30. she has decided on a 40...most likely a G23. After she shot her fathers G19, i noticed she was dragging the muzzle down after staging the trigger, obviously due to the stiffness of the trigger. Just wondering about polishing, not "lightening" the trigger and the possible legal implications should that ever become an issue. she had no problems drilling zero after...

has anyone modified the their Tac Light?

Im thinking about doing the "Malkoff" (I hope I spelled that right) mod to my surefire 6P or M2 to mount on my M4ish carbine
Also wondering if anyone has used a 1 battery extension for either of those lights. Anyone got a mount thats detachable that they are really impressed with?
Ive played with the Larue but thats it.

Typically, I have been carrying Federal Hydrashocks in all my carry guns. However, as I'm sure you're all aware, they are difficult to find. Specifically, I have only 30 rounds left in 40 for my G23, and am struggling to find more (still kicking myself for not buying all of them when I found a cache in Fargo, ND a few months ago).

Anyway, as most self-defense ammo is all gone here (SD) I have debated switching to whatever I found next. Two days ago, I stumbled across 5 boxes...

So I'm shopping for my first concealed weapon. I've had a permit for 3 years, very familiar with pistols, just haven't carried. Mostly because I was in college and couldnt' afford a gun.

That said. I'm 25, 5' 10", 215lbs. So needless to say, I've got some love handles. Being a mere 25 I tend to wear a lot of shorts and t-shirts. Most of the fashion involves shirts that aren't terribly long. Suggestions on what a chubby boy with love handles...

There has been a lot of discussion regarding what you carry and why.

Either way - with whatever you carry, if you hit your target there is going to be pain.

In the event that you have to draw a weapon for self defense purposes you shouldn't shoot to wound - you should shoot with the intention of using deadly force.

I say this because if you shoot your assailant and they survive - the likelihood of them taking you to court for pain and suffering is pretty high. I know.....

What would you do in this situation?

I just looked at http://www.theboxotruth.com/ for the first time in quite a while. If you haven't yet seen them, you might find the videos of their tests shooting an old Buick interesting. It'll sure remove any misapprehension that a car affords protection from somebody shooting at you.

How many shots from one position?

How many shots should be fired from one posotion of cover (before it may be wise to consider moving to a different position of cover... if available)? My books says 3 - 4 shots.

The situation of course will also have an influence on this and I do nut have a specific one in mind....

Here in Bologna (Italy) we have a club doing part of his shooting with revolvers loaded with wax: the ammo (.45 .357 .38 ) is a wax bullet loaded into cases drilled to accept a shotgun magnum primers. We found wax shooting in Bill Jordan no "2nd place winner" book where he used small pistol primers, then improved to shotgun primers as taught by CFDA (Cowboy Fastdraw assn.) instructors.
Well the bullets fly at 270 M/sec (750 fps) and are pretty precise. Revolver must be cleaned...

And they said our exercise bike scenario wasn't realistic...
